New Zealand Obedience Dog of

New Zealand Obedience Dog of 2010

 

ALL DOGS MUST BE REGISTERED IN THE ANNUAL COMPETITION BEFORE 1 NOVEMBER 2010. The Competition closes on 5 January the following year. Wins from any month will be accepted before closing date of the competition.

ENTRY FEES
The Annual Entry Fee- Free for 2010 (provides entry into both NZ Obedience Dog of the Month (every month during 2010) and NZ Obedience Dog of 2010). Entrants must agree to the Terms and Conditions of entry before being accepted into the competition. Entries will be confirmed by email.


REGISTRATION
Each entrant must register online providing a photo of the dog (must be jpg attachment) to be included in the competition, and provide the following details-
•         Breed (if applicable)
•         Sex
•         Dogs name and title

•         Dog NZKC Registration Number (or equivalent)   
•         Dogs date of birth
•         Owners Name
•         Owners address (must include country and state)
•         Owners Phone Number
•         Owners Email address

•         Region where dog is trialled and resides   
•         Sire and Dam of the Dog (if known)

The entrant provides surety to Showdogs (our Business), that they own the entrant. If the entrant is jointly owned, the entrant provides surety to Showdogs that they have the authority/agreement with the co-owner/s to enter the dog in this competition.

            ELIGIBILITY

  1. To be eligible for the New Zealand Competition, all dogs must be registered with the New Zealand Kennel Club and reside in and be trialed in New Zealand during the time period. Only dogs as per NZKC rules are eligible to compete for New Zealand Obedience Dog of the Year, as per NZKC Obedience rules. All eligible Obedience competitions must be NZKC approved Obedience and Working Dog Trials only.
  2. The time period for NZ Obedience Dog of 2010 means between 1/1/2010 and 31/12/2010. Final submissions for NZ Obedience Dog of 2010 close on 5 January the following year.
    You only need to register your dog once during the year to be eligible for NZ Obedience Dog of the Month and NZ Obedience Dog of the Year.
  3. The time period for NZ Obedience Dog of the Month means one entire calendar month.
  4. You are only eligible for NZ Obedience Dog of the Month if your dog is registered and you have submitted all your wins for that month by the 2nd of the following month.
  5. The New Zealand Obedience Dog of 2010 competition is for all dogs registered with NZKC.
  6. The NZ Obedience Dog of 2010 competition is for the whole of New Zealand. If enough entries are received, it will also be divided into the North and South Island regions.
  7. In that case, a dog shall be deemed to be entered under the Region for which they have submitted the most awards (not the most points).
  8. All Competitors compete for the NZ Obedience Dog of 2010. The dog with the highest overall points wins the NZ Obedience Dog of 2010 award and prize.
    In the case of a draw, the highest number of
    1st Place awards will win. If outright winners are still not achieved, the most 1st and 2nd Place awards, then most 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place awards, and down the table until a winner can be declared.

            POINTS

  1. For the New Zealand Obedience Dog of 2010, points will apply only for New Zealand Championship and Open Obedience Tests held between 1/1/2010 and 31/12/2010.
  2. Entrants can submit each award gained on each course at each level of competition (e.g. Place, & Qualifying, or Qualifying only).
  3. You must only submit your wins ONCE. Points for NZ Obedience Dog of the Month are automatically added to your tally for NZ Obedience Dog of 2010.
  4. If you missed entering NZ Obedience Dog of the Month and have registered for NZ Obedience Dog of the Year, you can still submit your wins for any month at anytime.
  5. Winners of the NZ Obedience Dog of the Month will earn additional points towards NZ Obedience Dog of 2010 as follows: 1st Place- 20 points, 2nd Place- 19 points, 3rd Place- 18 points. Monthly bonus points will begin from January winners.

New Zealand Obedience Dog of the Year entrants can claim additional points when their dog gains a title during the time period. Proof via a copy of the certificate (including date) must be received by closing date to be included in the 2010 Competition. These points will be added manually. Therefore, please email evidence of this to judy@showdogs.com.au.


   LEADERBOARDS
1.
   The leaderboards for NZ Obedience Dog of the Month will be published after 10th of each month, and the monthly winner will be announced no later than 4th of the next month.
2.    The leaderboards for NZ Obedience Dog of 2010 will be published after 1 March 2010.

 Any discrepancies/disputed wins will be checked with the entrant, and entrants may be required to provide proof of their win via notification from the Secretary of the Show. If proof is not provided and/or the dispute resolved by the close of the month, the win shall not be counted. No correspondence shall be entered into.

 

 

Zones
Zone 1 - The northern part of the North Island from a line drawn from the north of Awakino passing north of Tokoroa then following the Kaimai Ranges to a point East of Whitianga.
Zone 2 - That area of the North Island not included in Zone 1 north of a line drawn from the north of Awakino on the west coast to Porangahau on the east coast.
Zone 3 - The remainder of the North Island.
Zone 4 - South Island down to an east-west line south of Ashburton.
Zone 5 - The remainder of the South Island.
